Day 5 here we come! The sun shining again had a good nights sleep and re-organized stuff in the van. We thought we should go back into Almonte and take some pictures.

Bye Tony's house!

Back in the day they had a textile mill. These are the Mississippi falls. very Loud and misty! Landon wasnt a big fan anything that is noisy doesnt go over well with him.

The old district shopping street. Too little parking for now a day but still beautiful!

Madison really wanted to take a picture so this is what she choose.
Drove into Ottawa this is one of the buildings we saw, we have no idea what it is.
A beautiful church. I have seen so many amazing Churches.
Our first stop for pictures was the National War Memorial. It represents all the soldiers who have served. It was an impressive sight. I havent ever seen anything like it.

This is a grave for the fallen soldiers. Its quite an experience. I gained a real appreciation for the soldiers.

The back of the memorial.

Madison wanting to take more pictures!

A cool door on the East Block of parliment hill.

This is the West block (i couldnt find out anymore than that. I figure the building must have an actual name but I couldnt find it.)

The peace tower.Right under the clock there is a observation deck. We went up. Made my knees shake a little.

I could not believe how Huge it is. You see it in pictures and on TV but up close.Wow!

The east block. this is where Sir. John A MacDonalds office was.

The Centennial Flame. it has a plauque for each province. It is to represent the unity of Canada.

The front of the Main building. You are stopped pretty much as soon as you get in. And have to go through security.  Landon was wearing his Satchel that i made him for his birthday. The security guard asked him to take of his bag and Landon says "Its not a bag, its a satchel!" Well he was put in his place. All the other guards were laughing. Apparently there not told off all that often! Plus Landon had put a flashlight in the pocket of his coat, we have to show it to them. I went to take it out and couldnt find it. There was a hole in the pocket and it had fallen into the lining. I eventualy found it and we were able to go in.

While waiting in line to go up into the Peace tower. The view. You end up down there but at the time i didnt know.  We were behind about 15 other  people when a huge group of pre teens showed up. Loud and trampled over poor Cammi a couple of times. The elevator you take up can only fit so many, lucky for us the group of kids didnt make it on. We learned that the elevator was one of the first and either one of a few or the only one built on an angle. So it can clear the vaulted celing of the memorial chamber.

The view. Across the river is Quebec. The building is a library. a special on of course used for special purposes i am sure!

Cammeron with a view of downtown Ottawa!

Waiting for the elevator. While waiting we got to hear the Bells Chime!

in the memorial chamber there was 3 stained glass windows.

when you first look at this display the only thing i could think of was Indiana Jones and the lost Arc. This book and the others in the room are lists of Soldiers who died while serving.  It was baffiling to see how big the books were. They turn the pages so that every day of the year  a different list of people is shown.
