I was pleasantly surprised when they gave me rice instead of fries(they also gave me my plate of fries) It was the most delicious rice I have had!
Along with the Pan fried Cod and baby shrimp. Love it!!
We had a good time and all enjoyed our food.
Afterward She went to an activity night at the church and I put the kids to bed. She had a good time...as far I as know.
Me writing BURKE in the sand. Obviously watching the sand and not the water got SOAKED. I cant say I minded. Got it in the end.
This is an old picture that i had been looking for. Madison in her new blue dress and wearing a headband that our friend Karen made. Princess Please Hair accessories look it up on facebook she has lots and they are beautiful.
We visited another Cathedral that Amber had been in before. They have a tea room in the crypt and do a organ performance on Wednesdays. I think this one was Anglican. Huge and Beautiful and felt so much Nicer to be in. There was a happy mood and we got a fun and informative tour.
Learned about the Great St. Johns fire of 1846. The Great fire destroyed downtown took out 2000 homes and many businesses. People stacked their belongings in the Cathedral because of its stone walls. However they didn't take into account the stained glass windows. The fire broke the windows and destroyed everything inside burned the rafters and only one stained glass window survived. Amazingly at the very top of that window is a Phoenix.
It is one of the places I liked going and hope to go again before we go home. On each of the coloumns there are faces of people. Not many of the names of the faces are known but one is of Queen Victoria. I took a picture of that one.
The bell. The bell was probably the best part. Our tour giude said that the man who rang the bell had died and since then nobody really rings it. He rang it for us a couple of times and said we could TRY. Try being the real trouble. The bell weighs 100 and some odd pounds and he said he had to work hard to ring it. TRY we did.
Ring the bell!
Archangel Michael Slaying Satan. I just really liked that one. What amazing sculpting!
Madison was Stuck like glue to Tim. He was sweet and let her tag along with him.
Just after this picture He saw Jellyfish in the water!
At the dock...
We found out about a secluded beach not too far from the ferry dock. We had only brought one car across so it was interesting getting us all over there. But we did it!
Found plenty of Baby starfish and mussels. I brought a fishing rod and was close to catching a fish. I think i could get into fishing. Then using the Kan-hai's net I got a little fish in to the net but it got out before i could get my feet sturdy enough.
This is where all the little starfish were. It was a really neat little area.
Roasting Hot dogs.....or maybe giraffe dogs??? Just ask Amber. You had to be there.
Hanging out at the fire.
A Jelly fish but I am pretty sure it was dead cause it didnt move.
I have no idea (nor did anyone else) what this sign meant. We would have asked someone but there was hardly anyone there.
Madison's first time!!! I was so proud of her being brave enough.
Later that evening after naps and dinner we went out to Middle cove, As Steve had never been there. Just hung out and threw rocks. We have surprisingly discovered that Steve can throw further than everyone ;)
My Favorite picture! So Adorable.
Sweet Madison. And Cammeron kept giving Steve rock after rock.
Big Rock = Big Splash....if you get it into the water. He did. I just thought i would make it more exciting.
Madison teaching Cammi to put rocks in her sweater pouch.
Chicken Rock. One of my favorite finds. Yes I kept it. And will probably bring it back to Calgary!
Burke Place. After Church Steve brought us here to take some pictures. We figured I would take them since Steve and the kids are True Burkes. Then we drove down the street and found our perfect house. #5 Burke Place. Its even yellow which I love!!

Doesn't that sign mean "All the people should stand beside a stalagmite (or stalactite) and get inside a lopsided present (or weird large dude with 3 heads) while arrows are being thrown at you?" I see that sign everywhere I go these days:)
ReplyDeleteFinally someone who knows what it means!
ReplyDeleteI know so confusing. You need a sign to explain the sign. Pointless.
