5 am and Lanterns.

Lisa, Joshua,Cammeron and I, got up at 5 to go up to the start of Food day Canada. The day was to start as the sun rose with a town crier announcing the days begun. As you can see you could not see the sun rise which was a point of much laughter

This is Chef Roary MacPherson who heads up the Sheraton's Culinary team. He was very kind and happy to see we came. We were 2 of maybe 6 people that came other than the chefs. It was well worth it. The scones and jam were Delicious! And we got free t shirts.

Cammi and I after we got home.

After the ceremony at the top of Signal Hill the Sheraton was holding a $10 Breakfast buffet to kick off food day. We were warmly welcomed and had a great traditional Newfie breakfast. Toutons (i love them) baked Caplin( also like this) and more amazing scones with rhubarb Cinnamon jam.
Madison getting ready for the Lantern Festival. We had been eagerly awaiting this festival. We heard about it first from the belly dancers on Canada Day. I painted her face so one side is a lantern the other is a butterfly.

There was a couple things for the kids to do and some great music. Karen and Ryder also came as did Lisa and Joshua. Sarah Met up with us and Gwendolyn came also.

Can you see Cammi's hand and Landon's? Hers is the purple smudged little one on the top left and Landon's is the blue one on the right that you cant see too well.
Some people spend months creating their lanterns. this is a unicycle one!

                                           Batman and Cabot tower.
Mario anyone?

This dragon is actually quite large. Taller than me.

These are our Lanterns. (left to right) cupcake ribbon was Madison's the small pink ribbon one was Cammi's, Mine has the 3 maple leafs and i made the circle one also as an extra and Landon's is the one with the blue maple leaf.  you can see part of Lisa's Saskatchewan tribute on her lantern.

I t was a huge turnout. A lot of people were there.

Everything being lit.

Mine. We had a good time lots of good entertainment. Belly dancers, fire twirlers story tellers and a marching band. Thankfully After the night was over Steve was able to pick us up everyone was tired and cranky!
A Few days later We minus Madison went out to St.Mary's to visit one of Steve's techs families. They invited everyone out for a BBQ. We had a great time. They have 2 kids Matty who is 3 and Landon who is just a baby.  On the ride there Landon and Cammeron fell fast asleep.

Cammeron pushing Landon in the swing.

Madison spent the day with Karissa who sells for Steve's company and has found a place in all of our hearts. She also teaches Landon and Cammeron in nursery!

Sisters playing in the back yard while Landon was taking a much needed nap.
